What brands of guns are Speed Sights available for?
Speed Sights are available for the Glock at this time. We are planning to expand to other brands in the future.
How difficult are they to install?
Speed Sights are very similar to the install as the plastic factory sights and easier than most steel sights, but still require a basic knowledge of your gun and how to remove the slide and old sights safely. We recommend you read through the Installation Manual and decide whether you have the tools and experience to put them on yourself or if you prefer to have them put on by a gun shop or other professional service.
Do the sights have to be removed from the my gun to change the colored inserts?
No; the colors can be switched while the sights are still on the gun, using just a small (1") size paper clip. Read the instructions and follow all safety rules for switching the inserts.
How many times can I switch the colored inserts?
The colors can be switched as many times as you want.
The inserts on my Speed Sights stick out a little from the bases; is this normal or are they not seating correctly?
Yes, the colored sight inserts are designed to protrude a bit from the sight base; this allows them to catch the light better, almost like a fiber optic, providing a much sharper, brighter sight picture. You don't have to force them in; just gentle pressure with a fingernail and they will seat and lock into place.
Are Speed Sights adjustable for windage and elevation?
The current model is adjustable for windage. With Speed Sights highly visible and precise pointed front sight you can quickly learn to adjust your point of impact for your particular gun, ammunition, distance or personal preference. Occasionally we make a custom size for a serious competition shooter.
Are Speed Sights available yet in a Tritium, self-luminous version?
Speed Sights aren't available yet in a self luminous style, like Tritium. This is under development. We are working on some revolutionary new Tritiated materials that will bring the great advantage of the Point to Point system to true 24/7 visibility.
